Develop an emergency plan for different emergency situations and those disasters that may occur in your area.
When an emergency or disaster occurs, will you be ready? It is critical that you create an emergency plan to keep you and your family safe. Develop a plan with the members of your household to prepare for what to do, how to find each other, and how to communicate in an emergency. Be sure your plan addresses the special and/or medical needs for you and your family.
Your plan should address the following questions:
- How will I receive emergency alerts and warnings?
- What is my shelter plan?
- What is my evacuation route?
- What is my family/household communication plan?
- Do I need to update my emergency preparedness kit?
