2014 Daily Incident Crime Log

On December 29, an employee reported that four fountain ink pens valued at $120 were stolen from his office desk in Carver Hall. The report number for this incident is 20-14-16 and the case remains open.

A resident of Springdale Apartments reported that on or about the afternoon of December 23, unknown persons gained entry to his apartment and took personal items. Possible suspects in this burglary are described as two black males between the ages of 18-25. The report number for this incident is 20-14-15 and the case remains open.

Between midnight and 7 am, on December 17, several unlocked cars parked at Grinstead apartments were entered and had items stolen from them by unknown persons. The report number for this incident is 20-14-14 and the case remains open.

Between December 10 at 6 pm and December 11 at 8 am, a car was stolen from the Grinstead apartments parking lot and another unlocked car was entered and an IPOD and GPS device were stolen from the car. The report number for both of these incidents is 20-14-13 and the case remains open.

Between November 22 and November 23, a resident of Springdale Apartments reported that his vehicle was damaged by an unknown person shooting into one of the windows with a BB gun while the vehicle was parked and unoccupied at the apartment parking lot. The report number for this incident is 20-14-12 and the case remains open.

A student reported that on October 31, clothing items were stolen from a dryer in the Mullins laundry room by an unknown person. The case number for this incident is 20-14-11 and the case remains open.

On October 23, an employee of Dining Services reported that she had money stolen out of her purse on two separate occasions while working. A co-worker was identified as a suspect and subsequently admitted to the thefts during questioning by campus police. The victim declined to press charges on the thefts, but the suspect was arrested on unrelated outstanding warrants. The case number for this incident is 20-14-10 and the case is closed.

On October 9, at about 4:55 pm, an unknown white male stole a bicycle off a porch at the Grinstead apartments. The bicycle was not secured by a lock. The case number for this incident is 20-14-09 and the case remains open.

On September 17 at about 4:30 pm, a bicycle was stolen from the bike rack near the Honeycutt Campus Center by parking lot 2. The bicycle was not secured by a lock. Video cameras showed an unknown black male, accompanied by another unknown black male, get on the bike and ride it away. This case remains open and the case number is 20-14-07.

Between September 14 and September 18, a resident of Foster apartments had his basement storage unit forced open by unknown persons and the resident’s bicycle was stolen. There are no suspects at this time and the case remains open. The report number for this incident is 20-14-08.

Between August 31 and September 5, a vehicle parked in Lot 14 was illegally entered and items were stolen from the car. Entry was gained to the car by forcing down the driver side window. The report number for this incident is 20-14-06 and the case remains open.

On August 21, 2014, a laptop computer and Kindle reading tablet were taken out of a backpack placed inside an unlocked locker in the Recreation Center on campus. The report number for this incident is 20-14-05 and the case remains open.

Between May 19 at 3:30 pm and May 20 at 10:30 am, an unknown person broke the driver’s door window to the victim’s car parked in Lot 19 of Springdale Apartments and took a GPS device. The report number for this incident is 20-14-04 and the case remains open.

On March 24, 2014 between the times of 2 pm and 11 pm, a laptop computer was stolen from a dorm room in Fuller Hall. There are no suspects at this time and the case remains open. The report number for this incident is 20-14-03. On March 28, a non-student suspect was identified and the laptop was recovered. The case is now closed.

On February 15, 2014 a bike seat was taken off of a bike in a storage bin at Foster apartments. The report number for this incident is 20-14-02 and the case remains open.

On January 28, 2014 a bike was stolen from the bike rack in parking lot 2. The bike was secured with a chain, but the chain was cut and the bike was stolen by an unknown person. The report number for this incident is 20-14-01 and the case remains open.
