The Chapel Orchestra provides instrumental preludes and worship accompaniment for select chapel services on the Southern Seminary campus.
From more traditional hymn renditions to the newest Praise Chart arrangements, the orchestra plays a wide variety of musical styles and genres. The ensemble utilizes instruments from both the symphonic band and string orchestra. Although no formal audition for the group is required, at least 3 years of playing experience on a band or orchestra instrument is necessary due to the difficulty of the music. The orchestra rehearses from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm on Monday afternoons and prior to the 10:00 am chapel service.
