SBTS and Boyce College employees have received an increasing number of phishing attempts over recent years, increasing in both frequency and complexity. For the employees that have completed cybersecurity awareness training in the KnowBe4 platform, these some of the tactics used in phishing attempts are becoming obvious, while other tactics are still subtle.
While you may be able to spot phishing attempts more clearly, what should you do next when you receive a phishing attempt? This guide walks through how to report the phishing attempt with the KnowBe4 Phish Alert Button.
Why should I report phishing emails
While deleting the email and moving on is better than replying to the sender or clicking on the link in the phishing email, reporting the email through the Phish Alert Button sends the phishing attempt to a system that Campus Technology can use to review and quarantine the phishing attempt. Reporting a phishing email does not take long, and once you’ve reported one, you will start to build the habit of reporting other phishing attempts when they occur.
