FAQs

MinistrySafe is training that was created specifically to assist organizations with developing practices and policies that help to protect children from sexual abuse. Developed by lawyers Gregory Love and Kimberlee Norris, the training provides awareness to the signs of sexual abuse and to the laws related to sexual abuse.

SBTS believes that this training is of paramount importance for any of our students that will be serving in churches and other ministries. Unfortunately, this issue is becoming increasingly common, even within the church. We must do our best to watch for these signs to help protect our children from abuse.

Every degree-seeking student at Southern is required to take ministry safe before they graduate. Your degree will not be conferred until the training is complete even if you have completed all other course requirements. We highly encourage every student to take MinistrySafe before they begin classes.

Returning students will also be required to complete the training with each new degree.

Log into community.sbts.edu/trainings. There you will find the link to MinistrySafe.

Log into community.sbts.edu/trainings. If there is a green checkmark on “Child Safety Training,” you have satisfied the MinistrySafe requirement.

You need to complete MinistrySafe training as a part of our SBTS account in order for our reports to show that you have completed the training. We have no access to other MinistrySafe accounts. We will not accept a PDF from another organization. If you have watched the videos through a different organization it is acceptable to skip straight to the quiz portion of the training by checking the box that you have watched the videos. As long as you have completed the quiz through our system, it will be in our records that you have completed the training.

If you need to complete the training in Spanish, please email campustechnology@sbts.edu and we can assist with sending you the Spanish version of the training.
